Young Bruce

It all started in Portland, USA. A guy named Bruce Kilgore went to school in Pennsylvania to become a metalworker, but ended up studying industrial design, instead. Before he started working at Nike, he was designing washing machines, dishwashers and Whirlpool dryers. Wait, what? You design the knobs on washing machines, and then you become the father of a legendary silhouette... keep reading. Bruce has always loved seeing people try out his product live. When a headhunter called him one day and offered him a job at Blue Ribbon Sports (note: since 1971 Nike), he thought wow, now I can try something on myself. The model that made him take the job was the Nike Air Tailwind, because when he went for a run, the feeling of running in them was nothing like the feeling of just holding them and looking at them.

80's 80's 80's

In the early 80's, Nike invented the Nike Air technology that they wanted to use for basketball sneakers. Nike at the time had a special committee that consisted of everything from orthopedists to engineers studying airspace. They all had great ideas, but they couldn't put them together to create something realistic, functional, and also hyped. So along came Bruce Kilgore, took those ideas, got inspiration from the Nike Approach, and in 1982, the Nike Air Force 1 was born. In 1987, when Nike re-released the AF 1, Kilgore realized just how famous of a model it was. He visited the factory in Taiwan, chatted with the factory workers, and they were blown away by the model. In 1987, Nike also started making a green upper with a white swoosh and an "all brown cookies and cream" colorway with a white swoosh. These colorways drove America crazy. Suddenly the Air Force 1 was more of a fashion sneaker than a basketball sneaker, and it became the standard of streetwear culture across the globe. Rapper Nelly even released a song about them.

Here you'll find the legendary Nike Air Force 1 silhouette in white, as well as in many other colorways. We've got classics like the Air Force 1 '07 or LV8, as well as the hot new women's Air Force 1 Shadow and Pixel. All in women's, men's and kid's sizes.

In addition to the classic men's Air Force 1, you'll also find plenty of interesting collaborations. Most notably the three colorways of the Air Force 1 x Off-White, on which Nike teamed up with designer Virgil Abloh. Other limited Air Force 1 collaborations include ones with Stussy, Korean G-Dragon, rapper Travis Scott and CLOT brand. It's not just the collaborations that make the Nike Air Force 1 silhouette interesting. Nike also does a great job of doing it themselves on limited releases. Our favorites are the annual Skeleton and Easter models. Also worth mentioning is the Air Force 1 Low Tear Away! We have so many Air Force's to choose from, that you will surely find the perfect one!
