About the Brand

The Nike brand was founded in 1964 as Blue Ribbon Sports by University of Oregon coach Bill Bowerman and his student Phil Knight. They opened their first store in 1966 and interestingly enough, before they started making their own shoes, they were the exclusive importer of Onitsuka Tiger shoes, today's Asics.

Materials
Leather - there is no better material for shoes than leather. It's breathable, soft, and easily conforms to the shape of the foot.
Suede - Suede is leather sanded on the reverse side where the "pile" remains on the surface.It can be more susceptible to moisture, but is very breathable and comfortable to wear.
